Volunteering opportunity for a CNHC registrant at the Rob Burrow Motor Neurone Disease Centre

Are you a qualified Complementary Therapist? Would you be interested in volunteering at the new Rob Burrow Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Centre at Seacroft Hospital in Leeds? This volunteer role will make a really difference to patients’ experience, can you help?

The volunteer Complementary Therapist will be supporting patients, families and carers by providing complementary therapies such as gentle Massage Therapy, Reiki, or Yoga Therapy. This will be a relaxing experience and may help reduce a patient’s stress, anxiety and improve mood. 

Complementary therapies will be available free of charge to patients and families/carers affected by MND.    

We need somebody who is: 

  •  a qualified professional therapist with a minimum of Level 3 Diploma in Massage Therapy or Reiki or Level 4 Diploma in Yoga Therapy
  • registered with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC)
  • willing to hold an Honorary Contract with The Leeds Teaching Hospital Trust 
  •  two years’ experience of working or volunteering in your chosen therap(ies)
  • punctual and dependable and committed to attend regularly for at least 6 months/75 hours of volunteering. 

Reasonable travel expenses (public transport costs, car parking charges and car mileage) will be reimbursed.
