The Research Council for Complementary Medicine (RCCM) and University of West London are conducting a research study examining the scope and development of Traditional, Complementary, and Integrative Medicine (TCIM) research in the UK. The primary objective is to map current TCIM research activity in the UK, including studies completed within the past five years.

If you have conducted research in TCIM in the past five years, you are invited to contribute to this study.

Is your project eligible?

RCCM and University of West London are looking for projects which:

  • Are primarily based in the UK.
  • Are primarily about TCIM. We do not define which interventions fall within TCIM and instead ask you to decide which projects you would include as TCIM.
  • Are research, including clinical research, basic science, qualitative research, clinical service evaluations, case studies. We are also interested in postgraduate student projects (MSc, PhD etc). Undergraduate research projects are not included in the project.
  • Are currently being conducted or were completed since 2020.

If you have conducted research in TCIM in the past five years, you are invited to contribute to this study. Your insights are invaluable in shaping a comprehensive understanding of TCIM in the UK.

If you choose to participate, please complete the survey here

The survey should take approximately 10 minutes to complete per research project, and the deadline for submission is 30 November 2025
