Phone Scam Update
Further to the piece in the December Newsletter, we have had registrants from all over England contacting us regarding recent phone contacts asking them to advertise their services to GPs in some form or another. On several occasions, the caller(s) have become abusive and threatening when the registrant queries anything.
Our advice would be that you do not need a third party in order to let GPs know about your qualifications and experience.
We would suggest that you contact your local GP practice, or practices personally (make sure you address any communication to a named person - the Practice Manager or the GPs). Let them know briefly about your qualifications, experience and CNHC registration and the sort of work you are interested in and the ways in which you may be able to help patients. We can provide leaflets and posters about CNHC for you to use. We can also provide a template press release to help you with publicity.
With regard to phone calls - we suggest that you decline any involvement unless you are certain it is a bona fide caller offering something which would be useful to your business. If the caller becomes abusive or threatening then get take any details you can and let the local police know.
