Volunteering opportunities for CNHC registrants at Paul’s Cancer Support Centre

Paul’s Cancer Support Centre is seeking CNHC registered practitioners who can offer a few hours a week to share their valuable skills as volunteers in the Home Visiting Service and in the Centre.

Paul’s Home Visiting Service (HVS), is looking for CNHC registered massage therapists and reflexologist to work with clients who are too unwell to come to the Centre or who are receiving palliative care at home. The Centre provides an initial training which covers topics such as understanding cancer and treatments, palliative care, listening skills, and adapting your practice to the home environment. The Centre also provides group supervision on a monthly basis.

The HVS will be holding an information evening for prospective applicants on Wednesday 24th June or Thursday 3rd September 2015 from 6.00pm – 7.30pm.

Training start date: Saturday 10th October 2015.

The Centre is also looking for CNHC registered massage therapists, reflexologists, cranial sacral therapists, healers and shiatsu practitioners who can offer a half day of their time weekly or fortnightly, to Centre clients, (people living with cancer, their unpaid carers or family members).  Training is provided through a programme of evening workshops throughout the year and there are bi-monthly meetings to discuss client work and practice development.
