Complementary Therapy Lead, St Teresa’s Hospice in Darlington

St Teresa’s Hospice in Darlington welcomes applications from suitably qualified CNHC registered practitioners for the new role of Complementary Therapy Lead.

The role will be for 22.5 hours per week at St Teresa’s Hospice Band 5.

The primary aim of the role is to develop the existing complementary therapy service, provide leadership to the complementary therapy team of paid staff and volunteers and promote the service within the catchment area.

The Complementary Therapy Lead will be based at St Teresa’s Hospice and will lead and develop the service and use their specialty to support patients accessing the Hospice in patient unit, day therapy, as outpatients and in the community. The successful candidate will:

o Hold a recognised complementary therapy and/or acupuncture qualification at degree level, including/together with a qualification in practising one or more complementary therapies

o Have post qualification experience working autonomously as a practitioner, and experience of working with adults in a healthcare setting

o Have good communication and interpersonal skills and be organised and professional in their approach.

o Palliative care clinical experience, leadership experience and a good knowledge of relevant legislation and local and national palliative care guidance and policy would be desirable.

Successful applicants will be required to provide an enhanced disclosure. Disclosure expense will be met by St Teresa’s Hospice. All posts are subject to a six month probationary period.
