Paul’s Cancer Support Centre, London seeks volunteer practitioners to join Home Visiting Service

Paul’s Cancer Support Centre is seeking CNHC registered massage therapists, aromatherapists and reflexologists who are able to offer a few hours a week as a volunteer with the Centre’s Home Visiting team. Paul’s Cancer Support Centre is a Wandsworth-based charity which offers information, support, complementary therapies and self-help approaches for people with cancer, their relatives and friends.

The Home Visiting Service (HVS) offers reflexology and massage to those who are too unwell or frail to come in to the Centre because they are undergoing treatment or receiving palliative care.

The HVS is offered to carers who are unable to leave the house for any length of time.

Although Wandsworth-based the HVS takes referrals from surrounding Boroughs through hospitals, GP’s and self referrals.

The Home Visiting Service has volunteers in South West, South East and central London.

The Centre offers comprehensive training for volunteers before they start home visiting and supervision and support once practitioners are visiting clients.

The next training starts in September 2013: There is an Open evening on Wednesday 17th July, which is an opportunity to meet the Home Visiting team and some of the volunteers.

The closing date for applications is: 2nd September 2013.

For an information pack, including an application form, please contact Ruth Wooldridge, HVS manager or Clare Unwin, HVS administrator via or the Centre phone number- 0207 924 3924
